Big Step #2: Today we bid on a house. The only reason I didn't include this as a stressor in the equation below is that process of looking and prepping has left a swath of dead tissue across my brain. At any rate, it's a swell place but we're trying not to get too attached or excited: We're putting in a bid at the top of our price range and may get beat by some faceless yuppie jerkoff. If it works out, it'll be a great place to live. ("We'll be safe here," as Robin Williams said in the Garp movie. Was that a creepy book, or what? Jesus Christ.)
