Be Born Again, My Friend

28 Weeks Later: A pretty groovy half-hour of horror movie that makes some spectacularly bad choices as it stretches out to ninety minutes. I won't spoil the plot, but let's just say the movie presents too many enemies and too much poorly defined space for the characters to run around in. Plus, that goddamn shaky video: Half the scariness of Romero's movies is that you know he's going to show you everything. In 28, you figure out pretty quickly that all the gore is going to get hidden with camera tricks. Worth seeing on DVD.

Sitting in Limbo: Who the hell is Jessica Molaskey, you may well ask. A generally fabbo New York cabaret singer with a few impressive albums. This isn't one of them: She's in great voice but it can't redeem poor song selection.
