In the Land of Milk and Honey You Must Lay Them on the Table

Posting has been light here lately (I've been dropping most of my DD thoughts over at the Green Ronin Mythic Vistas forum), so let me get back into the swing of things with some bookkeeping:

Buy the game here. Or test-drive it first, with a free PDF preview here.
You can find the geography translation guide here.
Download a free module here. And an NPC supplement here.
Find out what the hell I was thinking in the design diaries: one, two, three and four.

I've also reorganized the links on the sidebar to make things easier to find. If you have questions or comments, drop me a line--my address is on the left--or leave a comment.

Take care,
Rob

The Legend Lives On, From the Chippewa on Down

I've been lax lately, but this seemed to deserve a post. RIP.

At long last, our second Web enhancement is ready to download. Could You Be the Dream That I Once Knew? gives an in-depth look at the history, plans and methods of Deja You--a psychotherapeutic group that promises to solve your problems by putting you in touch with your past lives. Enjoy!

Anticipation...

Hey there everyone...

Just to fill you in on my plans for this space: I'm currently working on fleshing out some GM Characters and secret organizations that were mentioned in passing in the DD rulebook. The first of these should be available for free download in the next week or so.

All the best,
Rob

Do You Know Where You're Going To?

I've added a link to the Please Let Me Explain list at left: a geography conversion guide, spelling out the real-world analogues for the locations in the game.

Life at Last!

Hi there--

All right, here's a better introductory post. Welcome to a quasi-official Web site for Damnation Decade, a setting for Green Ronin's Mythic Vistas line. I'm Rob Toth, designer of DD, and I've set up this blog as a central spot to field questions and post information about the game.

So, if you have any thoughts you'd like to share, feel free to drop me a line (address at left) or post a comment. By way of a FAQ, you'll find links (also at left) to the Design Diaries for the game, which lay out lots of details about the game world and explain the logic behind the big design choices.

Soon to come: the first DD module! Check back often for updates.

Take care,
Rob

Welcome to My Nightmare

Enter the world of Damnation Decade, a Mythic Vistas setting for the d20 Modern roleplaying game and True20 Adventure Roleplaying. Inspired by the darkly satiric sci-fi cinema of the 1970s, the game throws the heroes into an off-kilter version of 1976—where the worst-case predictions of a paranoid era came true. The world's environment is collapsing, the oil is running out, and mysterious powers are asserting themselves: The skies are black with UFOs, huge-footed horrors haunt the forests, and prehistoric beasts lurk at the bottom of every lake. And that's the good news. The world will end on December 31, 1979—unless a fearless and funky band of heroes can battle the secret masters of the planet into submission!

Damnation Decade is a complete campaign setting that includes:

--The history of a world gone mad! Just how did the 1970s turn into Damnation Decade?

--New advanced and prestige classes like Groover, Parapsychologist and Militant.

--New skills like Skate and Speak Language (trucker).

--New feats like Bustin' and Psychobabble.

--New occupations like Guru and Survivalist.

--A plethora of evildoers and their insidious plots.

--Plots hooks and GM advice for doing things the 70s way.

--An appendix with conversion notes for Green Ronin's True20 Adventure Roleplaying game.

Damnation Decade lets you take on the role of a classic 1970s icon—iron-jawed trucker, disco king, jive-talking radical, and more—and put the hurt on a host of otherworldly enemies, from sinister aliens and mind-robbing demons to killer bees and megalomaniac mainframes. Can you stop the madness before the end of the world?
